About us

Liberalism has become an obscenity and liberals have been painted as evil, unpatriotic, family-hating terrorist conspirators in league with the devil himself.

Or worse.

This is what Radical Conservatives want America to believe and they have done such an effective job at positioning liberals as evil-doers, that even liberals themselves have taken to calling themselves Progressives rather than accept the liberal millstone. It's time for that to change.

While we have no quarrel with those who wish to call themselves progressives, we think it's important to speak out about liberalism, so citizens understand what it means and how liberal policies are different from conservatives and Radical Conservatives.

We also believe that liberals need a place to discuss their views without being blasted by the Radical Conservative thought police. Liberal Voices is a place for the discussion of issues and ideas. It is not a place to simply bash Radical Conservatives.

In our discussion, we refrain from the labels of Democrat or Republican. There are liberal, moderate and conservative members of both parties and we prefer to support whatever candidate most closely matches our views. We have disdain for single-issue voters.

The publisher of this site does not claim to be the definitive authority on liberalism or that our view is the only view. That's why the site is called Liberal Voices and why we've sought out many different viewpoints and created mechanisms for readers to respond.

As we grow, we hope to add regular contributors to our blog and hope they will spark discussion among readers.

Liberal Voices is a place to listen in and be heard. We hope you find the site a resource that increases your knowledge of liberalism and a forum where you can discuss ideas important to you.

Most of all, we hope you'll become a liberal voice in your own community, speaking out when irrational Radical Conservative propaganda is expressed and demonstrate to others that Liberalism offers a viable, positive alternative.

It's time for America to hear from its Liberal Voices.
